Face #14. Yellow Flowers.
I'm trying to figure out how to use watercolors. This is a rendition of one of my favorite photos.

Face #12. Mixed Media.
This started out as a couple of magazine scraps glued to a piece of paper. I could see a face shape, piece if hair, and scarf in the lines and shadows and just followed along with it.

Face #11. Wooden Doll.
I carved this doll out on a lathe today. Seriously!
Well, I did at least 50% of the work.
These things are going to be the new Little People!

Face #9. Watercolor Self-Portrait.
I've wanted to try painting a portrait for probably..... 10 years? For some reason this is the first time I've actually done it! Yay for my 365 project.

Face #7. Pencil Sketch.
A "quick" pencil sketch of some girl.
There's something about jaw lines that I really love, I don't know why.

Grapite pencil on drawing paper.
I have to be honest, I really didn't feel like creating a face today.
But I did it because of you.
Yes, you.
And I'm glad that I did.

Face #3. Blind Contour Drawing.
I drew this blind contour of my husband in the dark. He just got back from an emergency visit with the eye doctor to get a tiny speck of metal out of his eye. Ouch.

Face #2.5. Self Portrait.
I did this one last night before bed. I guess one face a day just isn't enough for me! ;)

Face #1.
One thing that I have been learning as an artist is how to admit to myself that something isn't working. Sometimes it's ok to go back, erase, or start over. It may seem like a bummer or like I wasted my time, but none of it is a waste, because it's all a learning process!
Today I'm admitting that I need to start my 365 days over. It's been great so far, but it would be better if I had a theme - something to start with every day.
Something I love.
....
So here is the new beginning to my project:
