Face #138.

I checked out a children's book at the library, and it had the coolest illustrations. They had a lot of movement, messily drawn with pencil, and painted with watercolor over the top. I tried using the same technique today. I'm not super happy with it, just because colors can be so difficult. For me, anyway. But I will probably try this again.

Face #135.

My Creative Space: Face #134.

I have been really uninspired lately, until I started these paintings using only black watercolor. It's so nice to just get out one tube of paint, and experiment with watercolors without the extra challenge of colors. Plus I think black and white looks amazing. I'm really happy with the way these are turning out, and having a lot of fun with them, so I'll just continue using my one tube of black paint until I get sick of it, or until I find something else I want to try :)

My Creative Space: Face #118.

I wanted to keep this painting simple, but the more I look at it the more I feel like it needs another layer. Maybe a neutral shade or some warm yellow tones to brighten it up... what do you think?
